Gail wanted nothing more than to be a grandmother, and she even knew her “grandma name” – Nanny GG. This is a place where Gail’s grandkids, grand nieces and nephews can still get to know their “Nanny GG.”

Gail is a twin. She was born with her brother Gary on July 18th, 1954.

Gail was an excellent athlete – but particularly good at golf, soccer, and softball. She was a terrific swimmer and was a lifeguard at a swimming pool when she was a teenager.
Gail had six brothers and sisters. Before Aunt Rene was born, Gail was the only girl in her family. She had five brothers but no sisters!

Gail was incredibly popular because of how kind and accepting she was toward everyone. In High School, Gail was the prom queen and the valedictorian.

During her life, Gail lived in two different countries, seven different states, and 9 different cities! ​

Gail loved to sleep. When she visited her family in New Orleans, no one would try to see her until the afternoon because she would sleep all morning.

Gail LOVED music. She went to concerts throughout her life and saw many of the most famous musical acts of the 20th century - like Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones. While attending a concert by Blues guitarist Robert Cray, she declared him to be the sexiest man she’d ever seen.

Gail was a doctor - but not the kind that work in hospitals. She was a doctor of Human Factors Technology, or what some people call an “Industrial Psychologist.”

Gail was a brilliant scientist who did exciting work through her career, such as helping NASA with design and leading her own team in India while working for a company called Quark.

Gail was an author. Although she never wrote a book, she published more than a dozen papers in scientific journals.

She loved the movie Gladiator, and when she would clean she’d have it on every TV in the house so that she could move from room to room and still watch it.
Gail didn’t just love gardening, she completed gardening courses and she was a certified Master Gardener.

Gail had an extremely calm and peaceful energy. Her sister Rene never saw her raise her voice at her children. Her husband Jack said that he never once saw her lose her temper.

Gail LOVED animals. She owned many dogs (up to 3 at a time), and had a cockatiel bird that would sit on her and poop behind the couch. While she lived in Alaska, Moose would come visit her driveway.

Gail worked REALLY hard at school. She didn’t get her first “B” on a report card until she was in college!
